April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball stars to win medals in more than one Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. This could be the final chance she'll ever have when she turns 39. She is nevertheless confident that top honours are on the horizon. Ross told NBC Boston that he believes when they perform at their very highest, or play one of their best games, we will win the gold. This is why I'm going to try a little bit of luck and hope for the best. Ross, who was born 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began taking part in athletics at Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. She clearly was the top when it came to indoor volleyball. According to her bio, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitter on the volleyball court during her high school career. The award was presented to her as the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. In 2000, she won the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do since 2017. However, Ross was an already a well-established participant in the world of beach volleyball prior to Klineman and Ross joined forces. It's true that she has been a prominent player on the scene of beaches over the years. In fact, Ross took home several titles, and even one with a legendary volleyball star. From 2007 to 2013, she was working by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the world stage, claiming their first world title in 2009. The pair eventually captured one silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor's famous team together with Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. In 2016, the two took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. After graduating from high school and a couple of many years before hitting the sand in her professional career, Ross made her debut for the USC Trojans as an NCAA. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. She was an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000. The Trojans also reached the Final Four. During her sophomore season, she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a player, she steered the Trojans up to the top of the mountain netting three consecutive championships at the national level. She had established herself as an all-time great receiving the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross went on to study the study of international relations in USC. Unfortunately Ross mom Margie did not get to see Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is deeply in love with her mother who died. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her, both in and out on the beach.
