Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website has a TV personality, author, and charitable donor. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England together with her family around age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the famous debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the presidency. Following after her college graduation, she became a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall vote in order to replace Governor Davis. In addition, she directed the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th position in the listing and the following year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 of media lists. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the head of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and a journalist. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her father, despite being extremely close to the latter. Even in her formative age she showed the leadership abilities for which she's still known. In her 16th year, she moved to Britain to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the first woman to hold the position of the president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. Her career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
