Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. After moving from Greece to England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. After graduation she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that gave critical opinions on the political scenario. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news political, culture and politics. Arianna was famous after she was elected as an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as one of the "most powerful woman" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalist and management consultants. While she was very close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her character. In her earliest years she demonstrated leadership skills which are still widely admired. At the age of 16years old, she emigrated from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. Her professional career as an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editorial assistance.
