Despacito is a hit song from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It became the number streaming music of that moment within just six months. It was a mixture of pop music and reggaeton not only brought renewed attention to reggaeton but it also brought attention to Latin music generally. In 2015, there were two mostly songs with Spanish lyrics on the Billboard Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. In 2017, at the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, it will have 41 songs within this genre. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017 shortly after which popular artists began working together with reggaeton groups. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018), while Madonna collaborated on Medellin with Maluma (2019). The year 2000 saw a number of reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at the genre's direction toward the mainstream, but a new generation of performers, including Rauw Alejandro, aimed to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms and others into his music.
